Re: 1966 AIM database - last call
Mike,
It is a database made from the Assembly Instruction Manual. From each page in the manual, all of the part numbers, part descriptions, torque values (if needed), quantities, etc. It was created in MicroSoft's Office program called Access (version 97 is what I used but it is fully compatible with any later versions), a relational databse system. This is also reqired to use it.
You can ask it to find a part number, and if it is in the AIM, it will tell you where in the book, for every location. This is helpful if you want to find out if a bolt was used any place else, want to check bolt head markings?
Or you can ask it to find "rivet" (for example) and it will find every rivet, each part number, and where in the book it was used. or maybe you want to know the part number of the horns that were originally installed in St. Louis.
I have also completed the databases for the 65, 67, & 73 years.
I set up the database to be VERY EASY to use, so any idiot can use it, ESPECIALLY ME!!

70 AIM database is available
Hello friends, I exchanged files with Don. He was very kind to send the mentioned databases. I did the 70 version last year, you may find it in the 70 Registry (call Juliet Page) or if you prefer I could send the file myself.
Thanks Don again! Best regards from Argentina

Re: 1966 AIM database - last call
Don,
Would you mind if this was something I could add to the Corvette Action Center? I could set up a section in our Model Center. I'm not sure if I could get it to work because it is in MS Access and I would need to convert it into MySQL, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Don,
I have a 66 roadster that I am just starting to collect parts for a restoration. I have the 66 AIM, but a DB version would be great! Let me know what I need to do on my end. My e-mail address is joe_rueda@hotmail.com
Thanks,
