Hello
Such a beautiful day in California, just had to go for a little spin. Well I've rebuilt just about everything you can rebuild on my '59, including a recent engine overhaul...Well anyway, I didn't get 5 miles from home, before I ended up racing back to the safety of my garage. You know, the place you keep all the fire fighting equipment. This time I heard a loud banging under the hood, and it felt like the engine block was cracking in half. In my driveway with garden hose in hand, I carefully raised the hood. The top radiator hose was convulsing violently, and I'm pretty sure the clacking noise, and I do mean loud, was coming from the thermostat housing. On my engine rebuild I assumed (there's that word again) a new thermostat would have been inclued. Anybody else think it's a thermostat? How could a new one go out so quickly. Thanks,Tom
