Have ran AC Delco Packard 440 plug wires since the "hot rod days" of the early 60's. Hate the radio suppression carbon or otherwise cored plug wires(don't care too much for radios either). Used to be able to but pre-made plug wire sets but not anymore to my knowledge. You can still buy rolls of the 440 wire from delco and i think they still service the boots and terminals. Anyway, I have to make up 440 plug wire sets and i must have about a dozen wire crimping tools(usually have to progressivly crimp with 3 or four differnt crimpers. I even have soldered the core wire to the terminals in an attempt to prevent the plug wire and terminal from seperating on removal from the spark plug.Just got a MSD PRO CRIMP from Jegs which crimps so well there will be no need to solder from now on.It is a ratcheting crimper with multiple jaws> Little salty at 50 bucks but if you have a plug wire precipitated miss during a P.V., You'll wish you had made up a set of 440's. By the way, thse wires work super in a radio delete vet. They don't suppress ing. noises in your radio as well as carbon cored plug wires which commoly break when a knuckle head pulls a plug wire off the plug with brute force(best to have a tool that grasps the boot instead of the plug wire. Snapon sells such a bootgrasping tool. If you're gonna make up 440's suggest you also pick up the AC Delco 1504 drimping tool. It and the MSD tool are all you'll need.A puring small block at 6500 revs sounds so much better than the Beatles.

mike the FBI is on the way to your house as you are breaking a federal law that requires no radio interference to be caused by auto ignition systems. in all seriousness sprial wound ignition wire is even better than the old packard 440 because it will not cause any problems with electronic ignition systems causing a miss.- Top
