Just got my 57, and the gas pedal is missing, the repair job that someone must had attemted involved a bolt with two nuts welded on, fitted into a hinge like bracket bilted through the floor/fire wall. The bolts that were welded into the the u bolt were driven into two holes at the base of the pedal and there were no signs of attachment on the top of the pedal, it just rides against the pivot rod. how was the pedal mounted originally? I see no bolt holes that could have held the original brackrt in, also the bolts that are driven into the rubber at the base of the pedal are just jammed in there, the pedal is going to just fall off again if left this way.

Re: Gas pedal for 57 vette
The metal hinge plate at the bottom of the pedal was attached to the floor pan with two 1/4"-20 bolts through holes in the plate and the floor, with nuts, flat and lock washers on the engine side; shown in the A.I.M. in UPC 6, Sheet 5.0.- Top

Re: Gas pedal for 57 vette
They look like the same pedal as a 55 to 57 Passenger car to me. Bob
