    1972 wiper switch

When I push the wiper switch to the right (on) nothing happens. If I push in the button for the washer fluid the wipers work while I'm holding in the button, and they stop as soon as I take my hand off the button. They won't stay on , do I need a new switch? Already looked in the archives.

You might need a new switch. However, the first thing that I'd check for is that the switch is properly grounded. Improper grounds are the biggest problem for 68-76 wiper switches. Try establishing a temporary, but to a known good grounding source, using a jumper wire with alligator clips. If this solves the problem, you'll know that a ground problem is the source of your trouble.
