C1 Replacement Transmission Tunnel Panels

My 62 has a large rough cut hole in the transmission tunnel where someone probably removed the shifter from above. Now I am looking for a fiberglass replacement panel. I see tunnels for 53-55 models. Anyone know if these have the same contours as the 62? Any other suggestions would be appreciated...Ed

Ed: I believe the 61/62 tunnel is different from earlier, but they do make a HL patch panel for the 61-62. CC # 231004 and I'm sure others carry it as well.

I had seen the CC tunnel for the 53-55, but the online catalog did not display the 61-62 tunnel. The part number you gave me did the trick. Thanks...Ed

At least you are not as ignorant as I was 15 years ago. After joining NCRS, I called up then team leader Mike Ernst and asked him about the transmission / shifter access plate. My '61 had a tin panel covering up the hole, and I just knew it was missing a nice factory fiberglass piece. It pays to get the assembly manual and other manuals. Oh well, I bet Mike had a good chuckle over it after I got off the phone.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but there is so much information and friendly advise available online (like this great website) and elsewhere these days that its hard not to know something...Ed
