Gary - you should be able to find a JD dealer in the bay area where you can pick it up directly, the local JD Dealer here in Tucson had both when I bought a case of spray cans last year. At least they should be able to order it in for you...Craig

My local JD Dealer carries three finishes - Blitz which is flat, a satin like finish and then gloss. Its good quality stuff.

          Mike,
An earlier post indicated JD Blitz Black was the closest thing for semi flat black for underhood on c2. Find closest dealer @ www.JohnDeere.com

I have a case of it, I would say it has just a slight bit more sheen than Krylon 1613, dries slower, but seems a bit tougher. It looks sweet.... Craig

Gary, If you can't find any in your area email me. There's a John Deere dealer about 2 miles from my office and they always have it.

We'll work something out and get it shipped to you.

                Thanks Bryan

                Bryan,

I used the John Deere store locator and I'll call around on Monday. If I can't get the paint, I may contact you. Thanks for the offer of help.

                  More like flat black

                  Hi, Craig

I bought a few cans of Blitz black at my local JD dealer, and found the paint to be almost identical to flat black. I've seen so many restored cars with varying glosses underhood that I'm not sure which is correct. I've used 1613 and 7777, both of which are MUCH glossier than the Blitz black. Am I getting the wrong BB at the JD dealer? Please advise.

                  Thanks,

                  Mark

                    More like flat black

                    Mark,

In a past DB posting many months ago someone implied that there was more than one version of blitz black, but I think others debunked that idea. When I called a JD dealer, the salesperson did not mention the possibility of more than one BB, so I'm assuming there is just one version.
