1966 tach face red line

Does the tach face of a 1966 "427" red line at 5000rpm as a "327" or is it higher. Thanks

I'm not positive but I believe the oval port motor redlines @5500, the square port L-72 motor @ 6000.

Bryan - I believe the 390 oval redlines at 5300, I know my 66 rect port 425HP redlines at 6500...Craig

Bryan - have a 67 L79 AC & A.I.R. coupe, a 66 L72 coupe, and a 74 L82. I bought the 66 last may, it is nearing engine assembly, body is in primer from the prior owner, but, that has to come off and get some bodywork done right....Craig
