    body damage and NCRS judging

I have a 61 315 H.P."feulie" that I think could be a good candidate for judging, once I follow through on my plans to restore it. Upon inspection of the car I found that it has had some body damage. A left front fender was replaced and the rear panel was hit and repaired. This appears to have been done a long time ago, in that the fender is made exactly like the original and I have varified that the paint that is on the car is over 35 years old. Would I be wasting my time to restore this car for judging. It is otherwise a # matching car.

    Thanks
    Jack

Body judging looks only for "Evidence of repair" and any problem has to be visible with the naked eye. Lots of restored cars have shown quite well after having a lot more damage repaired than you have described.

My C1 was judged resently. It had more body repair than you described and top flighted at over 97%. Good luck.

i did a 67 400 a/c coupe that had at one time been a radical custon but got a duntov after virtually every visable fiberglass panel was replaced. Sounds like your FI is a much easier to fix vet than my ole 67 was. good luck, mike

          Bill

Thanks to you and all the NCRS guys for your encouraging response! I was wondering how they can make those repairs not visible to the naked eye. The present, but very old repairs are done with a bonding strip of fiberglass and a series of rivit like studs. This is very visible under the wheel-well. Would you have to reglass the entire wheel-well area? Or?

          Thanks
