    1964 Air Cleaner Repair

I have an original 64 250 HP dual snorkle air cleaner and the snorkles have come off. They appear to be original as you can see the where they were spot welded. I've cleaned everything up to re-install the snorkles and would like to know if anyone has done this with any success using epoxy? If so what particular type was used that has stood up to gine heat and vibration?
Any help is appreciated. Rich # 2276

I don't see how epoxy would hold up with the heat and vibration in the engine compartment. Try taking the air cleaner to a sheet metal shop they should be able to reattach it. I never looked close enough at mine to see how it is fastened, however it is probably either welded or the metal is belt over to form a tight fit. A sheetmetal shop should be able to duplicate that procedure.

      Hi! Rich

I took the best parts from two 250HP base air cleaners and made one good one. I took mine to a body shop and had them spot-welded. I then sand blasted, primed and painted it gloss black. It is as good as new.
