Fuel Gauge Grounding Again - '64

If I understand the posts in the archive correctly, a fuel gauge that sits around half full, regardless of the actual level has a ground problem. I just had my cluster slid part way out to change the ammeter, it was fine before that and I don't believe in automotive coincidences. My problem is that my temp gauge and all the gauge lights are working fine, so I think the cluster is grounded. I don't see how the fuel gauge could not be too. I plan to try a wire from the gauge to ground tonight, but even if that fixes the problem, it's still not right. The park brake warning light works, so that verifies the fuse. Thanks for some suggestions.

I am at work and don't have access to my 64 service manual, but I think the fuel guage unit has a ground at the tank.

Jim - you are right, C2's have a 3 wire connection at the sender unit, ground, +V, and the rheostat feed to the guage....Craig

I found the problem last night. The answer to the question is yes, they all share the same ground so if one thing works, the others should. When I reconnected the fuel gauge putting the cluster back, one of the wires pushed part way back out of the terminal enough not to make contact but not far enough to see.
