The heater core in my 73 has given up the ghost. But I have a new heater core for a 71 setting on my work bench. Question: Will the 71 core fit in a 73?

Re: 73 Heater Core

Assuming that both cars either have or don't have air conditioning, the core will work. All Corvette WITHOUT A/C heater cores from 1968 until 1979 are the same(GM # 3014900). All Corvette WITH A/C heater cores from 1968 until 1977 are the same(GM #3015145).In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 73 Heater Core

Yes, it's easy to tell them apart. Non A/C cores have tubes that come out of the core end and come across the core, pointing toward the opposite end of the core. Cores for cars with A/C have much longer tubes which extend downward(or upward, depending on orientation of the core as you're looking at it). The ends are much closer together and do not "overly" the core, itself. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
