    C2: Engine harness installation

When I removed the very tired engine wiring harness last year, I assumed the AIM would guide me through the installation of my new one. If it's there, I can't find it. What is puzzling me are the two riveted clips mounted on the left side of the firewall, one directly below the capacitor and one slightly to the left side. I can't locate a reference or photo in the AIM or Vol. #2.

    Thanks for any help.

What year, what engine, what options? All play a role in the wiring routing/clip location. What capacator are you referring to? I don't know of any on the firewall.

Sorry, Bill. I should know by now to be more specific.

My car is a '65 300hp 327 with Powerglide, P/S but no power brakes or air conditioning. The firewall item I'm referring to is the white porcelain fixture that mounts vertically on the firewall directly above the left side valve cover. These riveted clips are directly below this fixture, and I don't recall they were in use when I removed the old harness.

      Thanks,

      Mark

I'll try to email you a picture, but the clip directly below the porcelin (ignition resistor) are used one for the backup lights (may be wired differently thus unused on an auto trans car, and the second one for the temp gage Loom wiring.

Thanks for your help, Bill. The photo didn't come through off-line, but I understand what you're saying.
