    engine numbers

    I have a 1962 with block # 3782870 whith is for a 327. The engine pad has a following number on it F06IIS can anyone tell me what this represents or what the motor came out of. Thanks

    I'm not sure what the "II" part of the sequence means, but I expect that the "S" identifies it as a 250 hp 327 with Powerglide automatic trans originally used in 62-64 full size passenger cars. If your 62 is an original 250 or 300 hp, the configuration of this engine, if original internally, is virtually the same as your car would have had.
