My '62 keeps blowing 3Amp fuses for instruments. As soon as I pull light switch, fuse blows. Where did I make a mistake in the wiring? Thanks again, and I'm still Sleepless in Seattle. (Do Corvette owners ever sleep from all the little troubleshoots)????????

It sounds to me like you have a short somewhere in the instrument light wiring circuit. With a short to ground anywhere in the system, you'll blow the fuse every time the lights are turned on since the current draw in the shorted circuit will exceed the fuse capacity. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C-1 Instrument Lights
Try removing all the instrument lights. All those lights with the gray wires are all on the same circuit, including the clock. Then turn the lights on and ground each individual lamp and see what happens. If the very first one blows the fuse, then there is a short between the light switch and the parallel connection in the wiring harness. If not, the bulb that blows the fuse can be traced back to find the short.
Also check the connection at the light switch to be sure nothing is out of place.- Top
