I am installing a parking brake alarm (FOA 107) in my 1959. I think I have all the parts but I am not sure. Does the flasher utilize the existing "BRAKE" light on the left-hand side of the speedometer and just flash this bulb housing? Does it actually "replace" the bulb housing altogether and if so, how is the one in the wiring harness dealt with? Is it left hanging and/or removed/insulated in some fashion? OR, is there a separate "jewel" altogether as in a 57 and if so I would need to know its exact location. Thank you for your help and input. John

Re: C1 (1959) Brake Alarm
I have never worked on a C1 that didn't have this feature, but I believe there is only one "brake" light. The light is hooked directly to the switch on later models that use the flashing bulb, but on a 59 I believe the wire goes from the switch back to the flasher and then to the bulb.- Top

Re: C1 (1959) Brake Alarm
There is a special Tung Sol flasher required, and there is a clip that attaches the flasher to the top edge of the kick panel. The harness from Lectric Limited is all prepared when you recieve it, you will only need a bulb, flasher and the clip.- Top
