    c1 wcfb carb numbers

I found another wcfb carb (3191s) today for three bills. I thought,I might be able to use it while I send my original out to Chuck Smith. Sure don't want to miss any good driving weather. The problem is the bottom numbers are wrong. Top numbers are correct being 1586. The botom numbers are 1465 instead of 1451. Will this still be usable on my 250 hp, 3spd 62? What year of application does it correctly belong to? Thanks in advance!
    Regards, Jon

The 1465 main body casting was originally used for 1964-65 Corvettes and passenger cars with 250 hp engines and Carter 3696S or 3697S WCFB carbs. As far as I know, the 1465 body should be functionally interchangeable with the 1451.

Thanks Joe! I was hoping someone would jump in and say that it would work. It will get me by, while the bugs are worked out of mine. Does three bills sound fair for a "parts" carb? Thanks again Joe!

I don't know what these carbs are worth in the used market. Since this one is a mixture of parts and these carbs weren't all that rare as they were used on passenger cars, too, the price sounds high. On the other hand, there may not be many of these left around after so many years.

The base plate or bottom plate was thinner for Corvette then the car, like my 55 to give more clearence for the air cleaner.
