What is the correct date code for the battery on a 59 that was built the first week of May 1959?

    Re: battery

Date code will vary. GM assy plants pulled from inventory reserves rather randomly. There's no particular method (FIFO, LIFO) and stocks were replenished with supplier warranty replacement deliveries, in-line build repair pit swap out, and inventory store re-ordering/re-shuffling moves. NCRS guidelines allow for 'up to 6 months before vehicle final assy date' variance in date coded parts. But, 'most' of the time dated components grouped rather tightly in the 2-6 week before final assy range.
