Who out there can tell me what the "ARMCO Building" was/is at the Desert Proving Grounds in 1956? Is it still there or ??? Thanks.

His people just got back with my people and they said that he said the following....... "I'm not familiar with that designation for any of the buildings while I was there. I'll e-mail a friend that worked there before I ever got there and see if he knows anything about it."---so we wait and wait and wait.

hey loren ARMCO is the railing the put around race tracks.

In 1956 at the DPG, it referred to where

something was stored......

.......I just heard back from my friend that worked out there and he just sent me another e-mail and said -------- "I wonder if the ARMCO building might be a steel building like a quanset hut. That would explain the name. I haven't heard back from my friend in Arizona yet. He might be traveling because he usually responds right away."----so he is waiting to hear back from his friend, who worked there long before he did.......to be continued..............

Loren, I just heard back, again and he said the following: " My friend from the DPG e-mailed me back and he has never heard of the ARMCO building at the DPG. He said that he will ask around at the next get-together of the DPG retirees which will be in the next couple of weeks. He'll let me know if he finds anything out there."
