C3 73 Fuel Door Emblem

I recently purchased a Fuel Door emblem for my 73. In reading through all the catalog's I have I noticed some of the add's read / stated "correct red". Well, mine was delivered yesterday, and sure enough the "red" appears very diffrent than my original. My original emblem has a Ruby Red tone or hue to it, as opposed to the new one, which has a more bright red tint or hue.

Is there a difference in this color or am I being to anal here? The vendor swears on his mother's grave his is correct.

Your original emblem has been exposed to the sun and weather for years. The coloration of the paint used for the emblems changes considerably under such circumstances. I can't tell you if the reproduction part's colors are correct, but I can tell you that you'll never be able to determine if they are by comparison to a well-used original.

My recollection is that is a "medium" red. As apposed to a chevy engine orange.
