I believe I have an original smog pump from a 69 small block. The only part numbers I could find are as follows;
Stamped on one of the machined bosses is 16991S
One is cast into cast iron back and is difficult to read,but it looks like 4 U X
The longest rubber hose has part# 1932476.
If there are other part numbers where would they be located?
It looks like you've got a 1969 pump. The date code would indicate that it was manufactured on the 169th day of 1969.
There are other casting numbers to be found on components of the pump, but nowhere will you find a part number for the complete pump assembly. The casting numbers are not specific to the 1969 model year as the case casting number was used for 1969-71 and the backing plate was used for a number of years from 1969-forward.
The 1969 Corvette AIR pump does not have an external relief valve on the pump body (except for L-88 and ZL-1 which do). 1969-71 Corvette AIR pumps (except L-88/ZL-1) are all configured exactly the same, except for "dates".
