      I'm pretty sure your 66 diverter bracket should affix to the air cleaner base stud. I went through the same thing on my big block (ser#15521). Finally rounded up all the parts except the diverter valve bracket that affixes to the air cleaner stud. I was lucky enough to have the original a/c base though, but had to scavenge the rest of the parts. Not cheap, but rewarding to finally have it all back to stock. Ended up fabricating the diverter bracket from an electrical conduit bracket bought at True Value.

      This is one point in the JG that needs to be changed, at least for big blocks. Looks to me like they just copied '67 info.
