    67 Birdcage

Im going to look at a 67 that has been sitting outside for 25 years and would like to know if it is possible for a birdcage to still be intact after so many years of sitting outside and is there a way to tell its condition without disassembly?? Thanks

if the birdcage sat outside in western maryland for 25 years , there wouldn't be much to look at. Check the area where the rear of the door(verticle run) meets the birdcage--thats where they rust first. mike

Don, I bought a 67 roadster in PA. that had been sitting outside since 1978. I looked it over carefully and saw only surface rust on the frame, driveshafts, rotors, etc. I was nervous but the price was right. The body has since been taken of and the birdcage is near perfect so I guess it depends on how well the car sheds rain and whether or not there is a lot of condensation.
