ralley wheels don erickson while repainting my ralley wheels i found three correct and one mystery wheel it does not have the dc stamp by the valve stem and is stamped with a ki and directly below on the reinforcement between the lug holes the wheel centers are riveted not spot welded the trim rings and chrome centers fit fine any idea what i have possibly camero or later model vette thanks for your help

re ralley wheels unknown i have an early of the wheels had b stamp with stamped inside until reading rod's response i had never heard of this and did not find this code in chevy by the numbers does anyone have a reference fo this to prove it to ncrs -

re ralley wheels pete lindahl dear unidentified ralley wheel responder to the best of my knowledge ncrs is cognizant of the use of the b coded rally style wheel on early ' model year corvettes this information might not be in the technical information manual and judging guide but it's relatively common knowledge among most ' judges and fairly well know to those ncrs judges who also own an original early ' with rally wheels it's also information as you provided on your car like the vin that helps to bring examples of these items to the forefront so this information can be documented and then included in the next update of the appropriate manuals and guides of additional interest would be the wheel codes and dates of the other three wheels on your car fyi the vin of my car that has b rally wheels dated also is i've seen b rally wheels on a ' with a vin around and just recently at the national convention there was another example its vin was something it's not clear that all early ' s had b wheels as i have seen ' s with september vin s with dc dg coded rally wheels that would be the correct style for the ' model year i e no extenally stamped production or date codes but i don't have information on the interal date code information aside of the date code information it would be interesting to find out if these b wheels were common to a certain tire type e g white walls or whatever you can play all kinds of games anyway if you're interested in additional information please post your name etc and i'll get in touch with you or you may call me pete lindahlComment

re ralley wheels pete lindahl don it's not clear from your message if the wheel you described is a dc dg wheel the responses from others on the external date code and manufacturers info are in line with one would expect from a wheel manufactured after the ' wheel has the manufacturer and date information stamped internally so that one would have to remove the tire to find the information all kh wheels i have seen do have some designation code so i would expect the dc dg designation to be on the rim or some letter combination identifier but usually the letters are smaller in size the dc dg wheels were not standard equipment on other year corvettes they were only used on the ' corvette although some early ' corvettes had rims stamped with a b in ' the dc dg wheel was also used on the chevrolet station wagons after ' dc dg wheels were used on the camero z and possibly other but not corvettes peteComment

re ralley wheels rod mccormick i have the same situation on my car original wheels and one like you described mine has a k stamped near the valve stem hole the k is for kelsey hayes is for rumulus mi winsor ontario philidelphia which is the plant where the rim was made the last is the year these are service replacement wheels i suspect yours was made in based on theComment

re ralley wheels bobby s rivited wheels are replacements the original factory wheels were welded the k stands for kelsey hayes the manufacturer of the original and the replacements the number is a year code not sure which but suspect all trim will fit either wheelComment
