C2 -1964 Transmission Tag

Is it true that a vin car in 38XX range with a 327/365 M-21 transmission should have a tag number of 3839601, and mounted on the front lower side case bolt. If it is? does anyone have one of these little tags they would part with to help out a fellow topflighterwannabe....

Tag number is correct for a close ratio trans. There is no M21 in '64, all 4- speeds were called M20. Some were close ratio, others not, depending on which engine the car came with. The close ratio M20 is standard for the 365. According to the JG, trans numbers are not checked for flight judging, probably because the car would need to be raised. I've not had my '64 judged yet so I don't know if this is true in actual practice and am curious to know if they do go by the book.

Transmission "numbers" are not checked in Flight Judging - just configuration and appearance that can be seen from lying on the ground (skinny Chassis judges can get closer)
