From a judging standpoint can somone tell me what style Heater hoses are acceptable for a 71 454 with air. Many styles are offered by venders. Some with various rib patterns and other without ribs.Their are also various logos, which include GM as well as a number of Alphabetic codes. What is the most important factor in selecting heater hoses from a judging standpoint. If you could recomend a source supplier it would be appreciated.

Re: Heater Hoses
I would like to see heater hoses with 3 or 4 ribs running lenthwise down the hose. The ribs on original hoses are thin and very "clean" looking. The hoses "can" have a GM logo spaced along the hose. Some original examples have a "DL" or a "U" stamped on them in white ink. All this stamping is not nessasary if the ribs look right. Becareful what repro you buy, as they probably will lose a point or two. Look for the real deal at swap meets, junk yards etc. Remember these heater hoses were put on lots of GM products.- Top

Re: Heater Hoses
Sirs,
Can anyone provide any proof that any 1970 through 1982 Corvettes had heater hoses with a GM logo printed on them? Any dated photos? Any magazines with old dated photos? Anything? I have asked for this evidence many, many times. Surely in over 475,000 Corvettes built between 1970-1982, there must be one photo or one low mileage example remaining. Where is this proof?
Just curious upon what basis, upon what facts this GM stamp on heater hose has become lore. Don't think this is personal towards you. It seems nearly everyone has be brain washed on this lore, but nobody can offer proof.
I think those viewed are only repros found on restoration, but I am ready for that elusive proof.
Thanks
