I picked up this #3890490 intake on EBay for a very decent price. It arrived today. I stripped off the old peripherals such as the heater hose nozzle, t-stat housing and re-tapped all threads. It is a solid, straight if still dirty unit. Cleaning will follow. My question is: Where might I obtain that temp sensor at the front of the manifold? You can see remnants of the old in the pic.

Re: C2 Intake #3890490 Temp Sensor
Here is the finished product with a new heater spout and temp sensor. Lots of lacquer thinner scrubbing with steel wool and scraping with brushes and a razor blade but it does look good. That is VHT engine 550F cast aluminum paint.Attached Files- Top

Save for the embossed lettering, the unit looks pretty much identical to the GM #1513321.
One thing that's interesting is that the sender comes with pre-applied sealant. However, note that the bottom few threads are left exposed. This is, essentially, what I have previously recommended regarding sender sealing. I prefer to seal the lower threads by applying sealer to the manifold lower threads with a q-tip. However, the application of sealer to just the upper portion of the threads on the sender should work equally as well.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
