Windshield Wiper Post on 66

What color are the windshield wiper posts (the rod that holds the arm throught he cowl) sopposed to be? Mine is half painted and does not look to be original? Any pictures/advice would be appreciated.

The knurled stub shaft is cad plated while the aluminum transmission housing is natural aluminum. This housing is then subject to dum-dum as a sealant against leaks. The well that the housing projects thru is painted black out. Body painting preceded these parts assembly thus no overspray should be present. How ever if your car got scratched up during it's way down the assembly line don't think the same care you would give it occurred back then. Overspray is definite possibility!...
