    '70 LT-1 Ignition

Did all 1970 LT-1's come with Transistor Ignition? In trying to research my recent purchase , I found the Distributor is the correct 1111491 without points, the coil is correct and embossed 272 with the Delco Transitor Ignition label but I can't seem to find the amplifier in the front left fenderwell. This is a California NA9 car and thought I read something a modified placement of the amplifier? Any idea's? Roger

    Roger,

All 70 LT-1's came w/ T.I. The amp is tucked way up so it is hard to see. More obvious are the 3 bolts that hold the Amp. Look up into the front of the left wheelwell, behind the left front grille for the 3 exposed nuts. Your car wouldn't have a real embossed 272 coil if it didn't have T.I.

Found it, thanks Dave. Tucked way up, can't see amplifier from between hood and nose. Roger
