    C2 part# 9981098 & 3828790

In my 65 AIM the above part numbers are given for "plastic Cement" Can anyone tell me what color these were originally ie black or grey and what is a current substitute I can use. Thanks Jerry

    Jerry-----

Both of the referenced part numbers were PRODUCTION-only items which were never available in SERVICE under those part numbers.

The GM #9981098, also known as "neoprene solvent cement", was a yellowish adhesive. It can be closely duplicated by using 3M Super Weatherstrip Cement, available at most auto supply stores.

The GM #3828790 was, as I recall, a dark gray material. I don't know of a current substitute for it, but others may have found something.

      Jerry -

I believe the 8790 was a grayish-black vinyl plastisol sealer; 3M should have something similar.
