'65 Neg Bat Cable attach bolt to motor (C60 & L78)

To which bolt ? The AIM, section C60 sheet E2 seems to imply the lowest bolt on the clutch housing on the driver's side (ie: the bolt below the dowel pin). Is this correct ?

Mine goes to the drivers side left upper bell housing bolt!

My 65 neg cable attaches to the bolt above the dowel pin on the passanger side.

No way it should go to the left side. Let's call it the passenger side, since some people call the right left and the left right.

The passanger side is the right side. Left and right sides are determined fron sitting in the drivers seat.

Velly interlesting.....

My AIM (Sec 12, pg A7) shows the standard setup to be ground cable 2981079 hooked to the outboard vertical starter mount bolt; for C60
(pg E2) it shows cable 2979821 on the driver's side and calls out a connection to the "clutch housing bolt"; for L78 (pg A2) it says UPC 12a Battery & Leads "Same as C60" - when I go to my parts book and the page labelled "July 1, 1965", it shows "65 Corvette" in Group 2.341,
#2979821 and calls it Cable "(25 center to center holes)(I assume that we just missed the symbol for inches) - Obviously this is long enough to fill the needs of the "Standard" ground but the question arises as to WHAT was the difference between 2981079 and 2979281?
Should give the guys in the black hats something to scratch about...

C60 wasn't available with the L-78 engine....

Battery setup on L78 is same as C60 SB.... *NM*
