I am new to C2s so please bear with me. The pic shows a #3890490 intake manifold that I have been refurbishing. On my 1979 the carb/manifold gasket is a fairly thick spacer. The gasket I received for this unit is very thin: much as used with a t-stat. Am I missing a spacer or is this the setup for 1966-67? Thanks for your replies!

Your 67 application used the thin type gasket. Beginning in 1970 for California cars and 1971 for all, the thick, insulating type gaskets began to be used for most applications as part of emissions control systems. Actually, the insulating gaskets are a benefit for other than emissions control purposes since they insulate the carbs from a lot of heat which is detrimental from the perspective of performance and carb durability/longevity.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

That is reassuring. Another project complete! I don't believe that gasket is available in an insulation-type form. It is very odd as you know: two circular bores on the driver's side and a large, single oval on the passenger side.- Top
