    57' Best Brand of Bolts

What brand of bolts are most acceptable for engine assembly? (i.e. intake and exhaust manifolds) What type of plating finish?

    Thanks!

    Bob,
Boy, talk about a loaded question! There is no one good answer to your question, but Paragon has about the best selection of Repro bolts out there. Each location on an engine will use a different stlyle and head mark bolt and the judging Guide for your year will help, but will not address all the bolts.
There is abook by Tripoli that spells out a lot of head marks and is invaluable.
One of the best resources is the disassembly of the engine if it is original.
Bag each group of bolts individually as you take it apart, and it will help when time comes to go back together. This assumes that the engine is the correct engine, because the usage of different headmarks changed over the years.
The best idea is to indentify those bolts you can and ask the board about those specific bolts that are in question.

    Regards, John McGraw
