    Water pump ID help

    Just replaced water pump in 72 BB. The old pump had casting numbers 3940960 (the 9's could be 8's) and date code B 11 70. Just curious about the old pump's application. Look number up in Car& Parts Chev casting number book, but no help.

          Alan Colvin's "Chevrolet by the Numbers" lists it as 1970 Corvette 454/390HP and further notes it was used on some 1969 models.
