C1 Part Number 3830166

Can someone tell me if the part number 3830166 ( Brake Drum ) will fit a 60 model and if not what does it fit. I've looked in 74 and 67 parts books and the number is not there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Jerry

GM #3830166 was never catalogued as a replacement part for 1960 Corvettes.

It's passenger car and light truck applications were as follows:

59-64 full size passenger car, front

63-64 Corvette, front

65 Corvette, front, with drum brakes

I really don't understand why this drum can't be used for a 60 Corvette application, but I expect that there's some functional reason that it was never catalogued for such an application.

Joe,
Is it possible the '60 Vette didn't take a 2.5" front brake shoe? That's what those drums are for.
Also wondering if the front hubs might have been a different diameter on the Vettes until '63, in which case, the hole in the drum might not have been a good fit.? Just a thought.
