Part # is 6450233 and only other # are 1" Dia and D3. This is a Delco unit and came on my 60 and looks just like the correct 022 cylinder

What you are describing sounds like a master cylinder CASTING number. I don't have any info on this particular number. The unit that it is part of may be a later SERVICE replacement for the original master cylinder.

Don't have my reference material in front of me, but a 233 casting number was, I believe, what was used prior to the 022 master cylinder. Latest use in a Corvette was 1956. I can check when I get home tonight. Is there a number stamped into the plug on the end of the master cylinder?

Numbers on cap 5454350 320-H

5450233 casting was used in a number of applications, including Corvettes prior to 1957. 5454350 is the part number. It's original application was 1954-1955 Buick without power brakes.
