I think that it did, but I'm not certain of that point.

The 70 TIM&JG implies that what you're describing as the 'first design' (without the distinct i dot) is a reproduction part. Can someone confirm that it was a first design distinction? I've been looking for a photo of the non separated i style for the '70 registry photo library but haven't ever found one to photograph. ~Juliet

The "first design" is the one with the distinct, round dot above the "i". The "second design" and/or reproduction part has the "groove" between the dot and the body of the "i".

Ah OK, Thanks for fixing my mix-up Joe. I've still never seen one of these repro parts, because the current service replacement (or at least the GM resto one I inspected about a year ago at a friend's shop) didn't have the groove. It was distinct, like the originals. I checked the fenders on a bunch of sharks last year at Carlisle, digital camera in hand, but nary a grooved i was to be found. ~Juliet

              Re: C3 Stingray Fender Emblems

Juliet and Joe I checked out my stingray emblem collection. I have one NOS with a date on the box 4/30/73 it has clear adhesive on the back covered by a cotton cloth like material. I have a box of used ones I looked at and all with long studs look the same . I have no parts with a grove but their is a line on the bottom metal at the ( I )on the ones I have with short mounting studs but not as easy to see as other differences, sides of the letters painted, and shorter mounting studs. I will take a closer look at 74+ years on oringinal appearing cars and their are some vendors now selling a new style for more money I need to look at. Lyle
