    C-2 Steering Column

For a 64 coupe, I am replacing the rag joint on the steering column. Mine has a copper ground attached to the steering rag joint. It broke during the grinding off process to replace the studs with the new bolt pattern. Where can I find one? Or can one be made? I checked several catalogs and could not find one anywhere. Someone in the archives stated the copper ground was for the horn? Also, can a replacement metal clamp that holds the bolts/studs, to the rag joint and coupler be found? During the grinding off process, I damaged one a little (could possibly be used) before I figured out the easy way to do the job!!

    Thanks!

    Bob:

I thought LICS had all this but I'm not sure you can buy it as seperate pieces. I would think you could make a ground strap from some braided copper strapping.

I hope you have better luck than I had in the past reconditioning these parts. I found I could never get them to work as well the second time and experienced som slippage. Decided this was too critical a part to mess with and replaced the entire assembly.
