C2, 65 Tail Lights

In the AIM the inboard and outboard tail lights have different part numbers. Looking at the tail light assembly's I can't see a difference between them. Can anyone explain the difference between the inboard and outboard tail light assembly. If there is one. Thanks Mike

all four have different part #s because all four differ in shape. you can switch an inboard for outboard and vice versa, but though they intechange, the fit is awful. mike

Just replaced all four of mine last night, and there's a significant difference between the body-matching contour of the outboard lamps vs. the inboard lamps due to the curvature of the panel; I suppose you could physically attach them reversed, but they certainly wouldn't fit properly.
