I just installed my newly rebuilt wiper motor assembly in my 69 and the washer pump wont work. I tried priming the pump by pouring water into the intake tube from an elevated position but still nothing. I am suspecting that my switch is no good, is there any way to activate the pump ,bypassing the switch? If it means anything , before the rebuild, the pump would not shut off. It ran as long as the wipers were on.

Re: 69 windshield washer problem
You might try getting a mouth full of water and blow the water into the pump to prime as someone else turns on the pump. This always works if the pump is working. there is also a little cam that circulates one revolution when the pump is turned on. there is a metal arm that circulates around the cam and after one rev. it "parks" itself and turns the pump off. You need to remove the cover to observe this action as someone inside the car hits the switch. Hope you understand this. Bob- Top

Re: 69 windshield washer problem
I think that the switch is grounded through the bezel. They often break at the thin spot near the top of the gagues, just below the AC vents. Check that it isn't a ground issue. Don't ask how many hours it took to track that one down on my '70. ~Juliet
