I'm having a problem locating a correct outer heater box for my May, 63 build date car. The judging manual says mid / late 63's and all 64's have a reinforcement rib around the heater core tubes. I have spoken with all the big parts dealers and none have any idea if the item they sell is correct for me. Some say 63's had light colored fiberglass and others say only 64's have the ribs. Another says 63 and 64 boxes are not interchangeable. Mine is the original unit but is cracked beyond repair. It is dark gray fiberglass and has a reinforcement rib on the driver's side of where the heater core tubes would exit.
Can a mid production (ser# 15099) car have a 64 type heater box on it? Does anyone have a good source to find the correct unit?
Thanks,
Boyan.
