Putting my c3 back together. The chrome that goes across the top of the windshield (convertible), should I put some type of silicone sealant on it? Thers is also a wide piece and end piece that the hard top sits in that covers the top of the windshield. It is an empty channel should I fill it with some type of silicone caulking? Thanks for the help

The factory didnt use silicone in those areas. They used a seam sealer or beding coumpound. More like a clay product. If you use silicone it will seal OK but if you ever want to remove it, you might have a problem. The channel is not filled except near the extreme front and across the rear.
