Hi....Does anyone know if the right angle plastic nipple that connects to the hose from the manifold is being reproduced by anyone? Was it painted when the booster was painted, so it should be black instead of it's natural white?
Where can you buy a kit for overhauling the booster, the seals and diaphragms?
Thanks in advance.
The "plastic nipple" is actually a check valve. It is "reproduced" by GM, although it is not correct as to color or exact configuration. It's highly functional, though, and it's available under GM #18021981. This unit is black in color; originals were a very pale green. I believe that the valves were painted with the master cylinder, but they may not be completely painted. The valve is the same as that used for 64-68. You may be able to get a suitable repro from Long Island Corvette; I don't know of anyone else that has this part.
A booster rebuild kit was long ago discontinued from GM. Even the individual parts are now discontinued by GM. However, these master cylinders were manufactured by Bendix. Bendix supplies a complete line of brake parts in the aftermarket. So, I would suggest finding an auto parts store that carries Bendix brake parts and seeing if they can order them for you.
