    Dash pad skin

Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with using the "dash pad skins" on mid-year cars rather than replacing the entire dash pad? Any recommendation as to who makes the best skins? Thanks in advance for your help. Rex #8089

    Re: Dash pad skin

    Rex,
I had mine reskinned with Al Knoch material and they look really good. In hindsight, though, I think new pads from Al knoch would have been a better idea since I could install those myself. The skins and the labor to install by someone who knows what they're up to can cost the same or more.

I had Al Knock skins placed on my 1965 in 1989 by a profesional and they still look "dead-on" today. Cost ???? Too long ago ! The old dash must be made smooth prior to installing the skins. You may need some type of "filler" material.
