    Northwest Auto Sales

Anyone have any experience with this dealer in Canton,OH, good or bad? I don't need detail, just a rating...+5 for "excellent", -5 for "run away"

    Thanks

    Rich,

I'm from NJ and went out to Northwest to look at a 68 big block. When I call to discuss the condition I was told it was just repainted. When I got there it was repainted by laquar cracks were all over the vette. I was also preasured to buy now because it will be gone tomorrow.

I evently travel a bit futher to Detroit (see below). Found another 68 big block that I purchased. I talked to David Clack prior to going out and the vette was better than expected or described. The cars at ClassicAuto Showplace are on consignment so you get to talk to the current owner. There are a few nice vettes there now - see website.

      Bob

Thanks for the comments. I have been to proteam with a friend who bought a car and I have talked and met the guys at Mershons, although I didn't buy from them. They both seemed like people I could work with. Also I live not too far from Unique Corvettes and they have nice stuff, but very pricey. Also with all of these guys it's hard to know if the car is real, but I would trust all of them to give an accurate description of condition.

I had never met anyone who had done business with NW auto sales, hence the question here. I appreciate your comments and will look at that website. By the way, I never felt pressured to buy at any of those places. The sales people were pretty low key...for car salesmen! I did end up buying a 66 L79 from a private party in NJ.

I'm about 85 miles from there and went out look at a car for a man from the east. They have some nice cars there and some not so, I didn't get a good feel for what they did or did not know, but typical used car outfit, the best defense is a well informed buyer.

          Rich,
I live about 5 miles from Northwest. They pride themselves on high end NCRS/Bloomington cars to the point of being pretty cocky. I took my 67 327/350 in to get a feel about an appraisal, and he told me it would be around 30K while peeking 75 feet out the window if I haven't had it judged. He didn't even ask about options, documentation, 2 tops, ect. I can check a car out for you if you would like.
A friend of mine has bought from Mershons and had a great experience. He called them when he realized he had no spare and jack, went up the next week and gave them to him. He is been there since while thinking of upgrading and would definitely buy again.
As for Proteam, I haven't heard anything good.

            Ron

Thanks for the input. They have a '69 red big block that caught my eye. You can see it on the website. I have a deal in work now for a similar car that is a '68 but has a much better history and documentation. It may not happen simply because the current owner won't sell. But now I've become crazy about the car, so if this deal falls apart and they still have that one, I'll go out and look at it.

Thanks for your offer and comments.
