John McGraw and Jack Humphrey gave me some excellent advice on removing the faceplate, wonderbar and buttons from my '58 Wonderbar. Faceplate, easy, buttons, came right off as described. Wonderbar - not a budge. Can't get it to do anything. I even put lubricant on the connect. I have been very careful not to put too much pressure on the lever mechanism that connects into the interior of the radio. John, Jack or anyone else, Help.

Re: Wonderbar Radio Revisited
David,
The wonderbar can be a bitch to remove! Just keep prying between the bar and the little shoulder on each side alternating back and forth. You will find that the wonderbar is not tapered like the button shanks and will take a little more work. Just insert a thin screwdriver between the shoulder and the bar and twist the screwdriver. Doing it in this manner will prevent any twisting on the shafts.

Wonderbar Radio Revisited
John,
Bingo! I put a large screwdriver between the frame and the interior lever and applied ample pressure between the frame and the bar with a second screwdriver. The right let loose first and by shifting the interior screwdriver and exterior screwdriver to the left and a "bit more" pressure" the left came loose with a little hand wiggle. The protruding level on the left bent up a little, but I was able to straighten it while still applying pressure in behind. Now I'm ready for the kit. Thanks, my father was correct, don't apply pressure unless you know how it comes apart or get expert advice. Thanks for the expert advice.
