    68 P/B Master Cylinder

I purchased a used p/b master cylinder for my car because it had the correct casting numbers and I (foolishly in hindsight) threw my old one away.
When I received my rebuild kit today from Paragon I realized that I need more parts than are in the rebuild kit.
I already have $200.00 into this correct numbers master cylinder (purchase price, stainless steel resleeve, and rebuild kit) and it is useless to me because I stupdly discarded parts that it now seems I need as they are not part of a rebuild kit.
Any suggestions? Can the springs and plungers and whatever I am missing be purchased separately?
    HELP!!!

Basically, what you'll be missing is the secondary piston assembly. Although the seals for this will be part of the rebuild kit, the secondary piston, itself, is not included in the rebuild kit. These secondary pistons have been GM-discontinued for many years, and I don't know of another source. What you can do is to go down to your local discount auto parts store and purchase a "cheapie" rebuilt master cylinder for your application. These will contain the parts you need. Make sure that you get the correct one with 1-1/8" bore master cylinder; measure the bore before you leave the store.

Who knows? You might even get a "rare and valuable" original master cylinder core in the bargain. I would never use one of these rebuilt master cylinders, but the internal parts will be fine and, if it's an original Delco casting, this can always be sleeved and used.

Joe - this is second hand information, and someone sent me when I inquired about my 67 1" master cylinder, but apparently the LI Corvette kits include the secondary piston (these would be for 67 cylinders though) and also Stainless Steel Brake Co also apparently supplies kits with secondary piston and they service all years, so maybe the donor approach is not required....Craig
