I have a 60 and it starts in all gears. I noticed that the red wire is disconnected at the switch on the tranny. Does anyone know where this wire is supposed to connect to? Also, what's a great book that will show me pictures of stuff like this? I have never restored a vette and I got some great advice last week from this forum (but if I bought all of the books that were suggested, I would be out of money for the car).

the assembly instruction manual(AIM) is invaluable and if you want to put the vet back together as per assembly line, you'll have to bite the bullet. think they are only about 20 bucks.think the wire of tranny goes to a relay on firewall(at least that is how it works on a 54 vet with P.G. . good luck, mike -

THE NEUTRAL SWITCH IS UNDER THE HEATER ASSEMBLY ON THE FIREWALL. CHECK THE AIM FOR THE WIREING.Comment
