NJ Corvette Serivce/Restoraton - New Owner

I hope this is the appropriate place to post this. Someone on corvetteforum.com suggested I post this here.....

I recently assumed ownership of my father-in-laws '67 Stingray (white exterior/red interior) with the 428 cc motor.
The car is, essentially, all original save the motor and has largely been a garage queen. That's not to say it hasn't been kept up, as he had it serviced each year, but only minimmally. The car starts and runs well, but feels like it could use a real going over (hey the tires are 20 years old ).

So, here's where I need help....as much as I'd love to do the work myself, I don't have the time, tools or complete ability to do it.

I'm looking for recommendations of a good Corvette mechanic/restorer in the central-New Jersey area. I've heard of Corvette Country in West Chester, PA but I was hoping to not have to travel that far.

I'd like to get the car to where I could safely drive it to/from work several times a week (about a 30mile round-trip in some stop-go traffic).

Thanks in advance. I have a feeling this will be an adventure.

    David,

I'm in the Somerville, NJ area and I've had my vette (68 small block 8 years sold it a few months ago and 68 big block that I've had 3 months) serviced by Autoworks, 28 Veterans Memorial Drive in Somerville (908-722-9273). Tuffer and John do the work and between them they have over 70 years of corvette experience. Their hourly rate is about $60 - $65 an hour. I've had my vettes serviced by them for the last 8 years. Tuffer really knows his stuff and they won't rip you off. Although the shop my look a bit messy they have never damage my vette and if it needs overnight work it is kept inside.

      Thanks, Bob.

Since I'm in Bridgewater they are quite convient for me. I'll have to drive over and have conversation with them.

David -- this might be a little south for you however their work is absolutely excellent. Corvette Paramedics on Rte 206 in Mt Holly. Ron & Ed are the owners. Ron takes care of parts, Ed takes care of the shop. 609-265-2702

Can say I have known both Ed and Ron since my days in the 80's in NJ. Just went by their shop last Jan. They can do you a good job. Was impresssed with the shop and the type work they do. They work on not only vettes but street rods also. Ken
