    C2: Testing a fan clutch?

While my radiator is in the shop for an overhaul, I'd thought I'd test my fan clutch. I mounted it on another Chevy and drove around until the temp got to 200 degrees on the S-W gauge. The fan spun as freely as it did when it was stone cold.

Can I assume that my "test" indicates the fan clutch is junk?

    Thanks for your advice.

Pretty good assumption, not exactly "junk" but "in need of a rebuild" if it's an original.

Best way to test your fan clutch is to bring the car up to temp and once you turn the car off the fan should not spin more that a couple of turns. Good Luck
